Dear Lawrence
A pedestrian walks past a large photograph of the News Center building at 645 New Hampshire when it was a post office in 1911. Note: This image was shot as part of the Dear Lawrence Project in the summer of 2011. Taking a page from Dear Photograph, I organized the community-wide project with the help of the Journal-World staff in which we asked Lawrence residents to "re-photograph" and submit their own images in an effort to create a collective identity of our city and to explore changes in landscape, technology and people. We received more than 100 submissions and hosted a gallery showing of 50 images from the project at a reception on Aug. 27, 2011. About 500 people attended throughout the night.
