Lawrence resident Curtis Bennett is pictured outside his home Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Bennett’s wife of 30 years, Jill Loven-Bennett passed away on Oct. 7, 2008. During her stay in hospice and in the time shortly after her death Bennett chronicled his experience in preparing for and dealing with his wife’s death in two books of poetry “The Passage” and “Picking Up the Pieces.”
